The first time a therapist works with a client, it's an introduction for both to discover the best course of action for future therapy. Because every person is different, a cookie-cutter process just doesn't get the job done. We'll need to discuss how your current activities affect your wellness and how massage can help you, then I'll need to have you actively participate in a hands-on dialogue to discover your focus areas. The hands-on/table time may be anywhere from 75 to 90 minutes in my treatment room, with discussion & consultation before and after taking as much as 30 minutes.
An initial consultation is for a new client with whom I have not worked before. After our initial consultation, standard rates apply.
For those times when you don't need focused therapy to address chronic issues, a relaxation session can help center you and address everyday stress. This type of bodywork involves more Swedish & Lomi-style massage using oil & lotion without tools, trigger point or other heavy therapeutic styles. This is done on an adjustable, wooden massage table on which the client lies under a drape.
Using warmed, carved Himalayan salt stones in combination with natural, oil-based lubricants enhances a therapeutic session — the extra warmth and broader surface area of the carved salt helps with circulation, absorption and manipulation of the muscles & fascia. The salt stones' inherent antimicrobial properties are a huge improvement over standard basalt "hot" stones. This type of session is done in my treatment room on an adjustable, wooden massage table on which the client lies under a drape.
A therapeutic session usually combines stretches from Thai massage, the basic kneading, percussion & manipulation of Swedish massage, some of the flowing characteristics of Hawaiian Lomi-Lomi and some trigger point therapy, where those painful knots are directly palpated & worked out using oil & topical analgesics. This type of session is done in my treatment room on an adjustable, wooden massage table on which the client lies under a drape.
Put down a retainer for five hours of bodywork on account at $60/hr — 25% off piecemeal rates!
Got your own table, lotion & linens? Your therapist can come to you! If there is more than 20 miles of total travel from my location to the destination, there is an additional $1/mile fee for mileage.
This is for existing clients with whom I've previously worked.
